The Klobas/Kesecker Ensemble

Bassist Pat Klobas and vibraphonist Tommy Kesecker met on a live recording date at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco and later at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music during their musical studies. After school they headed in different directions. Tommy joined Zakir Hussain and the Rhythm Experience and Pat headed into both classical and jazz work. They came together again performing at the Gualala Arts Music Festival with the San Francisco Chamber Jazz Quartet featuring Tommy as a special guest. The exceptional energy from that concert was the inspiration that lead to the formation of the Klobas/Kesecker Ensemble. The Klobas/Kesecker Ensemble's first CD 'No Gravity' which reached 34 on the Jazz Week Jazz Album Charts features Gene Burkert on woodwinds, David Rokeach on drums and very special guest Zakir Hussain on tabla. The Klobas/Kesecker Ensemble's new release 'Moment's Notice' is an eclectic combination of great jazz standards mixed in with some zesty originals with David Rokeach on drums and Terrence Brewer on guitar
