SuperJazz Big Band

The SuperJazz Big Band (formerly UAB SuperJazz) was the first performing ensemble connected with the Music Department of the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). The group now presents concerts four times a year at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, and has remained a very popular jazz orchestra in the Birmingham metro area for more than 25 years.

SuperJazz has performed with many notable jazz artists, including Ernie Watts, Lou Marini, Jr., Lew Soloff, Chuck Redd, Andy Martin and Ellis Marsalis. In 2001, UAB Entertainment Records released a recording of SuperJazz featuring Ellis Marsalis
