Sold out concerts and standing ovations have followed in the trails of Stockholm Voices! The four soloists offer vocal harmony singing at a world class level.

Stockholm Voices is a vocal jazz quartet with a swinging band. With one foot in the lush soil of jazz, the other in the Nordic midsummer night, the singers offer melodious voicings draped in elegance and charm. The debut album “Come Rain or Come Shine” was released in 2015 and received rave reviews from the press. In March 2023 the singers release their new album - “New Horizon”, a tribute to the fantastic music composed by Sir Paul McCartney during his long career, from the Beatles days until today.

Mattias Ståhl

Born: December 11, 1971

Mattias is born 1971 in Oskarshamn, Sweden and lives in Stockholm. Have the latest 15 years performed at stages around Sweden and elsewhere, focusing on jazz and improvised music. Released two album of his own with his former quartet Ståhls blå ("Ståhls blå" 2001 and "Schlachtplatte" 2004), which achieved great attention from reviewers all over the world. He also composed all the music for this group. As a sideman he contributes in a lot of exciting groups, from projects with the legend Georg Riedel to collaborations with the swedish indie wonder Emil Svanängen aka Loney Dear. Niklas Fernqvist

Born: September 18, 1987

Born in 1987, Niklas Fernqvist is one of Sweden's most sought-after bass players of his generation performing with Claire Martin, Isabella Lundgren, Lisa Nilsson, Edda Magnason, Vivian Buczek, Joel Lyssarides and Karin Hammar among others. He can also be heard on dozens of critically acclaimed and award-winning recordings.

Per Boysen

Born: November 15, 1955

Swedish multi instrumentalist and “electronician” Per Boysen is a crossover crusader that loves music, but not genres. Enthusiastic listeners have hinted at “EAM”, “Nu-Jazz”, “Psychedelic” or “Minimal” while some refer to “Sound Art”. On stage Per plays interactive electronics driven by an acoustic/mechanic/electric instrument. The palette spans the Alto Traverse Flute, the Tenor Sax, the Fretless Guitar, the Chapman Stick, Stick Guitar or the EWI (Electric Wind Instrument). Nils Berg

Born: October 9, 1977

There is a particular quality to the music Nils Berg makes — something that feels simultaneously ancient and restless, rooted and searching. It is a quality that places him in a long line of Scandinavian artists who have found a way to distill the Nordic landscape and temperament into sound: the lyrical economy of Jan Johansson, the melancholy warmth of Lars Gullin, the way Grieg could make a simple folk melody feel like it carried the weight of an entire geography.

Berg, a saxophonist, bass clarinetist and composer based in Stockholm, works in the space where jazz meets that broader Nordic sensibility — music that breathes slowly, that favors atmosphere and silence as much as notes, and that treats emotion as something to be approached with patience rather than force. Dubbed "the Fellini of Swedish jazz" by Dagens Nyheter and described as "mysterious and irresistible" by Rolling Stone, he has spent two decades building a body of work that is genuinely hard to categorize, and all the more compelling for it.

Anar "Buba" TAGYZADE was born in 1973 Baku (Azerbaijan). Began his professional carrier as a scat-vocalist at the age 21. Worked with many fantastic musicians,toured around the world. Martin Höper

Martin Höper was born in 1978. His musical career started in Kalmar, Sweden, playing electric bass with various rockgroups.After switching to the upright bass in highschool and studying jazzmusic he ended up at the royal conservatory of music in Stockholm.There he studied with some of the most prominent bassplayers in sweden including Palle Danielsson. Pretty soon he began his freelance career playing with groups like Fredrik Norén Band, Rigmor Gustafsson, Gustav Lundgren Quartet, Last Days Of April and with electrojazz group KOOP he’s toured Asia, North America and Europe many times. Goran Kajfes

Goran is of Croatian heritage, grown up in Sweden in a family of musicians and artists. He is, since many years, an obvious authority at the very core in the Swedish music scene. A sought after session player, touring musician, arranger and producer. Goran has performed with José Gonzales, Stina Nordenstam, Eagle-Eye Cherry, Lester Bowie, The Soundrack of our Lives and many many others. Last year he was appointed Artist in Residence at Stockholm Jazz Festival. He was given the honour of composing and performing the opening ceremony of Stockholm Museum of Modern Art in 2006.
