Steve Calafati

Steve Calafati grew up in New Jersey and has played the guitar for 35 years. He studied Classical, Jazz, theory, and counterpoint at Monmouth University and the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, as well as with numerous private instructors.

After college, his skills as a composer, engineer and producer rapidly developed as he worked on various rock and roll projects in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. After that, Steve performed for a few years as a Classical soloist and also with his own Jazz group.

Then, in 1997, Steve was drawn back to a past love - the music of Spain - Flamenco
