Sergey Chashkin was born on July 1985 in Russia,Yekaterinburg. He started playing guitar at the age of 15 and also started taking private guitar lessons; it gave him a good classical and theoretical basis. Then, after playing rock and blues for few years, Sergey started listening to jazz that totally changed his attitude towards music. He entered in the huge world of jazz and improvisation listening the recordings of Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Wes Montgomery. At the age of 18 Sergey Chashkin went to study in College of Music of P.I. Chaykovsky, in Russia.
