Sean Dennis

SEAN DENNIS is a Toronto-based 6-string electric bassist whose extraordinary technical command, deep pocket and highly melodic approach have made him a formidable voice on the Canadian jazz scene. Described by the former head of Humber College’s bass department as a “once-in-a-generation bass player,” Dennis has toured extensively as the current bassist for the award-winning Brownman Electryc Trio, helping shape the group’s collision of modern jazz, funk, hip-hop and groove-based Black American music. He is a frequent 1st call for Brownman Ali's label projects on Browntasauras Records, equally at home navigating dense harmonic landscapes, odd meters and ferocious electric-jazz grooves, Dennis brings uncommon virtuosity, sensitivity and rhythmic authority to every musical setting.
