Bobby Porcelli

New York native Bobby Porcelli (b. 12/16/37) is one of Latin and Afro-Cuban jazz¥s most accomplished flautists and alto saxophonists. An exciting soloist influenced heavily by Charlie Parker and Sonny Still, Porcelli's alto has soared gracefully above the legendary percussive ensembles of Machito ('65-'66), Mongo Santmaria ('87-'90), and Tito Puente ('66-'00). Since the early '80s, Porcelli has toured Europe as a single, playing with local rhythm sections across the continent and performing at many festivals. An original member of T.S. Monk's sextet as well as the Monk on Monk Tentet, Porcelli has demonstrated his ability to creatively interpret the idiosyncratic pianist's quirky compositions.

Mitch Frohman

Bronx native Mitch Frohman is one of the top saxophonist/flutists in the music scene. After graduating from Columbus H.S.(Bronx,N.Y. class of 1971), he went on to get his Bachelor of Music Education degree from The University of Miami. His versatility in different styles of music has led him to many opportunities of playing with the greatest musicians in the world. For 25 years he was the sax and flute soloist with The Tito Puente Orchestra & Latin-Jazz Ensemble, and was also a steady member of the Mongo Santamaria band for many years. Maria Faust

Maria Faust (EST) was born in Estonia 1979 but lives currently in Copenhagen, Denmark. After the short conducting studies in Academy of Music in Tallinn, she continued her education with saxophone in conservatory in Esbjerg Denmark. Maria Faust is known as a leader and a composer for Maria Faust Group. The bands first release “Bitchslap Boogie” came out in 2008 and the second will be released in September 2010.

Maria Faust Group was formed in 2005 and has been becoming one of the most interesting new acts of a Danish jazz music scene. The music of Maria Faust Group is a mixture of many different styles drawing on the legacy of her Estonian roots, rock, 20th century classical music and jazz with an emphasis on the band’s four horns. Maria Faust's clever and challenging compositions have a clear structure and their complexity does not obstruct the underlying romanticism of the music. Her saxophone playing is sensitive and emotional, yet fearless and refrains from obvious cliches while featuring a wide dynamic range.

Rafael Statin is one of those rarest of young jazz instrumentalist who can combine great passion, intellectual discipline, and a spiritual fire that is evocative of great artistic creativity. He has so far established himself as a remarkable composer and musician. Rafael has had the greatest privilege of sharing the bandstand amongst two of the very best Jazz musicians of today, Robert Hurst III and Jeff "Tain" Watts.
