Richard Pavlidis

Born: December 31, 1985

Richard Pavlidis is a saxophonist, composer, teacher and multi-instrumentalist from Melbourne, Australia. Educated at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Richard has toured Australia, New Zealand and Europe and has performed at major festivals including Splendour in the Grass, The Manly Jazz Festival in Sydney, and the Melbourne International Jazz Festival. Richard's debut solo album 'Without Within' was released worldwide in 2019 and supported by an Australian tour. Music from this album can be found in the Australian Jazz Real Book and the Australian Jazz Museum. The album caught the attention of celebrated saxophonist Kenny G, who said via social media "I love the way you combine bebop licks with more modern-sounding phrases, and your technique is amazing

Dave Wilson

Born: August 22, 1955

Dave Wilson is jazz saxophonist, recording artist, composer, and educator in the Central PA/ Delaware Valley area where he leads his band The Dave Wilson Quartet. Born and raised in Bronxville, N.Y. Wilson has studied with saxophonists Dave Liebman, Joe Lovano, Bill Barron, Ralph Lalama with a primary focus on tenor and soprano. He is also adept at alto, clarinet, and flute. With his quartet, Wilson and his band mates are known for their exciting improvisations, creative individualistic compositions, and unique arrangements of standards. As the saxophonist states, "what sounds good, is what is true to our artistic vision, and can communicate with the audience on a deep level...it's jazz"

Fred Haas

Born: July, 1951

Fred Haas, a Dartmouth graduate ('73), teaches Saxophone, Jazz Piano, Improvisation, Jazz History and Music Theory at Dartmouth College. He lives in Hartland, Vermont, and travels throughout New England and beyond performing and recording with a variety of musicians. Fred brings to each of his performances and workshops a depth of experience and knowledge from over thirty-five years as a jazz musician and educator. His goal is to communicate a broad range of emotions through music as well as share information about the history of jazz and the art of jazz improvisation. In 1997 Fred founded Interplay Jazz Camp, which provides an opportunity for musicians of all ages to participate in a relaxed and supportive learning environment with an experienced faculty that focuses on key aspects of the improvisational art of jazz

Caroline Davis

Born: July 7, 1981

Mobile since her birth in Singapore, composer and saxophonist Caroline Davis’s music covers a wide range of styles, owed to her shifting environment as a child. As a leader, she has released six albums: Live Work & Play (2012), Doors: Chicago Storylines (2015), Heart Tonic (2018), Alula (2019), Anthems (2019), and Portals (2021). She won Downbeat’s Critic’s Poll Rising Star Alto- Saxophonist (2018) and was listed in both Downbeat’s Readers Poll (2021) and JazzTimes Expanded Critics Poll (2021). Her work has garnered much praise from NPR, The New York Times, The Wire, DownBeat, JazzTimes, and many international publications. Davis is active as both a side-person and a leader in a diverse set of music communities (jazz, improvised music, modern classical, R&B, folk)

Mirko Fait

Born: June 3, 1965

Mirko Fait, Italian, was born in Milan on 3rd June 1965 in a family of artists. Mirko started playing the guitar at a young age, from the early 1970s, but it was only later that he realised that his cultural ground was jazz music. This is why in the 1990s he chose the contralto saxophone. He started his studies in Bergamo with Alberto Nacci, moving back to Milan he continued studying the tenor saxophone with the maestro Michele Bozza, with Giulio Visibelli and Emanuele Cisi at the centre “Civica di jazz” run by Franco Cerri and Enrico Intra, until his last lessons with the American Michael Rosen.

He played straight away in different bands and he performed from the very first years also in jam sessions and with various jazz groups in a few Milanese clubs (Capolinea, Scimmie, Tangram, Aquatica, Mirasol, le Trottoir, Ittolittos, Ca’Bianca, Santa Tecla).

In January 2002, with the Cuban trumpet player and pianist Gendrickson Mena Diaz, he was asked to play for a renowned stylist group at the Pitti Uomo club and in 2003 he founded the jazz band Five for you

Born: December 19, 1990

Andreas Toftemark, Ba - New School 2018/ European Jazz Master 2023, and Recipient of the Bent Jædig award 2023. After 9 years abroad in Amsterdam, Paris and Berlin and 4 years in New York Andreas has returned to Europe and has now established himself as one of the leading young saxophonists in this country.
