Arnaud Guichard

Arnaud Guichard is a Belgian born saxophonist and composer based in London. Since he arrived in the UK in 2013, Arnaud performed as a sideman and as a leader with the renowned jazz musicians Zoe Rahman, Mark Lockheart, Simon Purcell, Mick Foster, Dave Wickins and Moses Boyd. Arnaud studied at Trinity Laban Conservatoire where he was awarded the Jon Hassal prize for jazz in 2015 before graduating in 2016. His latest work as a bandleader ‘Serendip’ is a project that reflects Arnaud’s early influences from the ‘Symphony Fantastique’ by Berlioz. ‘Serendip’ cultivates the essence of program music using the Persian tale ‘The Three Princes of Serendip’ as an extra-musical narrative. Since its start in 2017 ‘Serendip’ played at Jazz in The Round, The Vortex Jazz Club, Jazz Live at The crypt amongst others and released its first album ‘The Tale’ at Total Refreshment Centre in May 2018

Iming Lin

Born:
Iming Lin is a classically trained, jazz saxophonist and composer, from Taipei, Taiwan. His musical journey began when he was six years old, when his parents decided to enroll him for piano lessons in the hopes that music would calm and discipline this boisterous, energetic six-year old boy. Few years later, Lin picked up the saxophone at the age of ten when his music teacher introduced him to wind concert band. Lin went on to study classical saxophone at Chinese Culture University and Shih Chien University. He won the Shih Chien University Concerto Competition in 2009 and performed Paul Creston “Concerto for Alto Saxophone” with Shih Chien University Orchestra at Taipei ZongShan Hall

Sungjae Son
The Near East Quartet has been a force in Korean music since 2010, juxtaposing elements of contemporary jazz and traditional Korean music with pure sound exploration to create new forms. Saxophonist/clarinettist Sungjae Son and guitarist Suwuk Chung have been members from the outset, and the group has been strengthened with the integration of pansori singer Yulhee Kim and highly creative drummer Soojin Suh. On their ECM debut the NEQ plays five compositions by Sungjae Son and three Korean traditionals. Near East Quartet was recorded in Seoul, and mixed at Studios La Buissonne. Producer: Sun Chung. The ECM debut of the Near East Quartet was recorded in Seoul in December 2016

I did not have direct contact with music until age 16; After seeing a Jazz group in High School with some real teenage prodigies, I started playing the Flute and the saxophone came afterward; I was into Charlie Parker, John Coltrane and Klaus Dolginger; I studied Saxophone and flute with Diverse teachers including Dr Althea Holdcroft, , Dr Norma Butcher and Don Hawkins formerly from Stan Kenton, Tommy Dorsey and Woody Herman; I played at age 19 with the Stan Tracey Jazz Quartet Live and it was an incredible experience; Stan Tracey was a Jazz pianist with the London based Ronnie Scott jazz group; Later played with Saxophonist Riney Bryson a Roland Kirk Alumni and a woodwind player with the Los Angeles Philarmonic;Also played with Johnny Echols a former Sideman to Miles Davis, played wit Guitarist Ike Willis formerly with Frank Zappa and substitute for Allan Holdswoth in the Frank Zappa organization after Holdsworth Death; Also played with Producer and pianist Paul Fox formerly with Natalie Cole; Was a saxophone player with The JazzLand Big Band and presently Plays and performs with Jazz Anova in Studio City California

Award winning, Cuban born tenor saxophonist, composer, and arranger Rocky Yera began his musical journey at the age of twelve. Since his early years, Rocky received his main influences and musical guidance from multi-Grammy Award winning producer Richard Aspinwall. Rocky's other significant musical influences include Cannonball Adderley, Ed Calle, Paul Desmond, Stan Getz, Joshua Redman, Chris Potter, Jeff Coffin, Lenny Pickett, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Edward Van Halen. Rocky has been acknowledged with several awards throughout his career. In early 2023, saxophonist and composer Oleksandr Kolosii presents his new project "Paws Up" released on the label Unit Records (CH) and featuring a special line up of musicans who made a significant impact on Oleksandr's career: Carl Winther - piano, Doug Weiss - double bass and Anders Mogensen - drums.
The music for this project began to come “into one frame” after personal changes in Oleksandr's life after marrying his life partner. “This is a very special project for me” says Oleksandr. Alain Brenzikofer

Alain Brenzikofer discovered jazz at the International Music Camp in Canada in 1997 after having played the saxophone since the age of 10, mostly in a wind orchestra. Illinois Jacquet and Eddie Harris opend the door to jazz for him. In 1999 he studied at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Zurich but then chose to do a masters degree in electrical engineering at ETH Zurich. During 13 years he was member of the ETH Big Band and had the chance to go on tour in eastern Europe, China, India and Brazil.
