Peter Slocombe

Peter Slocombe was born in Wolverhampton, England 1984. At six, Peter picked up the Clarinet, and at nine started on Saxophone. When his family moved to California in 1996, he quickly became involved in the young music scene. By the end of high school he was performing regularly with "Underwood", a well established rock band, in venues such as: The House of Blues, The knitting Factory, B.B kings, and The Key Club. In 2006 Peter graduated from The California Institute of the Arts with a BFA in Jazz studies. He was also one of the 2006 recipients of the John Coltrane Music Scholarship in Saxophone performance. Peter's first full length album entitled "Lullaby for Elizabeth" was released in Fall 2007 in conjunction with SNP Records. As a professional musician Peter divides his time teaching and performing

Christian Herluf Pedersen

Christian Herluf Pedersen was originally born in small town Skals in Denmark, where is fathers love and devotion for music inspired him to pick up the saxophone at the age of 11. In 1996 he traveled to USA to attend Berklee College of Music, but after 1 year he decided to move back to Denmark to work as a musician. In 1998 he moved to Sweden to study saxophone from Cennet Jönsson at Fridhems Folkhögskola, and then on to Stockholm where he was accepted at the Royal Music Conservatory. In 2006 he completed his studies in Stockholm (studied from Joakim Milder and Karl-Martin Almqvist among others) and has been working as a freelance musician since! Christian Herluf Pedersen is a well known member of various ensembles across many different genres and emerged in 2009 as a band leader and composer on his debut album “Christian Herluf Pedersen - Alliance”. Christian Herluf Pedersen is playing and touring Sweden and Europe with, among others: Alliance, Transatlantic, Ahmadu Jarr & the Highlife Orchestra, Big Band Splash, JnJO, Danny and the Cappers, Azimuth 3 +1, Lil Gizelle and various DJ’s.

Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Chris’ interest in music started at a very young age. Having inherited his father’s acoustic guitar, and a small Casio keyboard, Chris started experimenting with music as far back as he can remember. “I used to try and figure out as many melodies on the guitar as possible, and then when I discovered chords, it was a whole new ballgame!” Chris would try and get his hands on any musical instrument he could find and figure out how to play it. Salim Washington
The story of jazz saxophonist-composer-scholar-activist Salim Washington paints a harlequin voyage in search of one’s roots. His parents were born and raised in the sharecropper plantations of Mississippi, met in Caperville, Tennessee, got married and moved to Detroit with hopes of a better life. His mother sewed at the Levi’s Jeans factory, and his father worked in construction and labor jobs. Although his mother prematurely passed away when he was twenty-one, Salim has careful memories of a selfless, courageous spirit who was fearless for her family. The gracious resilience of his father, who persevered to complete his education while working and raising a family, gave Salim the inspiration that he would later follow. As the first generation in his family to be born outside of the plantations, Salim was born in the housing projects in Memphis, Tennesee
