Matt Otto

Born: January 16, 1967

Matt Otto is currently the Associate Professor of Jazz Studies at Kansas University (KU)  teaching Jazz Theory and Performance, Jazz Combo 1 and private lessons. Matt was also an Adjunct Professor at the Rutgers New Brunswick teaching online courses in jazz improvisation, theory and performance.

Matt Otto pursued his education in music performance and composition at Indiana University, Berklee School of Music, New School Jazz (BFA) and California Institute of the Arts (MFA) during which time he studied under Lee Konitz, George Garzone, Billy Pierce, Charlie Haden, Don Hawkins and many others.  Having lived in Japan for 6 years, New York City for 7 years and Los Angels for 6 years, he has performed with a variety of artists including Anthony Wilson, Larry Koonse, Rashid Bakr, Ben Monder, Willie Jones III, Alan Ferber, Mark Ferber, Albert “Tootie” Heath, Gregory Hutchinson, Jonathan Kreisberg, Joe La Barbera, Leroy Vinegar, Bob Bowman, Jimmy Smith (drums), Paul Jackson, Ari Honig, Ben Street, Mike Moreno, Sara Gazarek, Josh Nelson, Peter Schlamb, Danny Weiss, Roger Wilder, William Parker, Matt Wilson, Steve Cardenas, Bobby Watson, Bob Weir, Deborah Brown,  Larry Goldings, Eric Harland, Sheryl Bailey, Darek Oles, Erik McPherson, John Stowell, Danny Embrey, Alan Pasqua, and many others.

John Wallace

I feel lucky to have been bought up in an era of feel good, people willing to express themselves though all the art forms, but for me the mental springboard was the music I was hearing though radio. Ok, I'm lying in bed suffering from trips like Chickenpox, Mumps, chest infections etc, over a period of 5 years or so; I wasn't a lazy bum all my life! But there I was pumping my ears with all this incredible music

Eli Degibri

Born: May 3, 1978

Born and raised in Israel, saxophonist Eli Degibri first began playing the mandolin at age 7 in an after school music program at the Jaffa Conservatory of Music. Three years later, after attending a jazz concert, he became enamored with the saxophone and switched his studies to that instrument. At 16, Degibri has already worked professionally with some of the major names in the Israeli music scene establishing himself as one of the leading musicians in Israel. That same year (1994) Degibri was selected to receive a full scholarship to attend the Berklee College of Music’s Summer Performance Program

Elena Kapeleris

Elena Kapeleris is a jazz tenor saxophonist and vocalist. Elena'a debut CD "INTRODUCTION" was recorded at CBC on November 30th, 2008 and will be released in April of 2009. "INTRODUCTION" features Elena Kapeleris on saxophone and vocals, the great Pat LaBarbera on saxophones, Tom Juhas on Guitar and Brandi Disterheft on bass. Elena Kapeleris is a graduate of the jazz program at Humber College in Toronto, Canada. At Humber she studied saxophone with world renowned saxophonist, Pat Labarbera. During this time, Labarbera placed emphasis on learning the lyrics of the songs that she was playing on the horn

Peter Slocombe

Born: August 21, 1984

Peter Slocombe was born in Wolverhampton, England 1984. At six, Peter picked up the Clarinet, and at nine started on Saxophone. When his family moved to California in 1996, he quickly became involved in the young music scene. By the end of high school he was performing regularly with "Underwood", a well established rock band, in venues such as: The House of Blues, The knitting Factory, B.B kings, and The Key Club. In 2006 Peter graduated from The California Institute of the Arts with a BFA in Jazz studies. He was also one of the 2006 recipients of the John Coltrane Music Scholarship in Saxophone performance. Peter's first full length album entitled "Lullaby for Elizabeth" was released in Fall 2007 in conjunction with SNP Records. As a professional musician Peter divides his time teaching and performing

Christian Herluf Pedersen

Born: April 4, 1975

Christian Herluf Pedersen was originally born in small town Skals in Denmark, where is fathers love and devotion for music inspired him to pick up the saxophone at the age of 11. In 1996 he traveled to USA to attend Berklee College of Music, but after 1 year he decided to move back to Denmark to work as a musician. In 1998 he moved to Sweden to study saxophone from Cennet Jönsson at Fridhems Folkhögskola, and then on to Stockholm where he was accepted at the Royal Music Conservatory. In 2006 he completed his studies in Stockholm (studied from Joakim Milder and Karl-Martin Almqvist among others) and has been working as a freelance musician since! Christian Herluf Pedersen is a well known member of various ensembles across many different genres and emerged in 2009 as a band leader and composer on his debut album “Christian Herluf Pedersen - Alliance”. Christian Herluf Pedersen is playing and touring Sweden and Europe with, among others: Alliance, Transatlantic, Ahmadu Jarr & the Highlife Orchestra, Big Band Splash, JnJO, Danny and the Cappers, Azimuth 3 +1, Lil Gizelle and various DJ’s.
