Craig Roselieb

Born: September 3, 1961

Craig Roselieb, a 1979 graduate of Downers Grove South High School, completed his Bachelor of Music at Northern Illinois University in Music Education and Saxophone performance in 1984, where he was a 3-year member of the NIU Jazz Ensemble under Ron Modell, and was a winner in the 1983 Concerto Competition on Alto Saxophone as a student of Steve Duke.  He earned his Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting from Northwestern University in 1988, where he directed the Symphonic Band and Concert Band under John P. Paynter, and directed Jazz Lab Band and played jazz tenor in the NU Jazz Ensemble with Don Owens.   Mr. Roselieb began his teaching career at Glenbrook North High School from 1984-87, continued teaching at Wheaton Central High School from 1988-90, and joined the District 99 music faculty in 1990. He was appointed Director of Bands at Downers Grove South High School in 1994, and retired in May, 2018 after a 33 year career.  His responsibilities at DGS included conducting the Wind Ensemble, Marching Mustangs, and Jazz Ensemble, as well as co-directing the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band and Concert Band. 

Enrique Thompson

Born: January 10, 1982

Enrique Thompson is an Argentinian saxophonist, EWI performer, composer, and improvisation artist known for his versatility across various musical genres. He has led and performed with ensembles spanning orchestras, chamber music, jazz groups, blues, rock, Latin American music, tango, saxophone quartets, African, electronic, and experimental music. His compositions extend to film scores, theater pieces, and multidisciplinary projects throughout Latin America and Europe.

Thompson's formal education includes classical saxophone studies at La Plata’s Conservatory and composition at La Plata National University in Argentina. He has further honed his craft through courses and private lessons with esteemed musicians such as Michael Brecker, Bob Mintzer, Carlos "Mono" Fontana, Paquito D’Rivera, Carlos Michelini, and Anibal Arias.

Zishi Liu

Born: October 11, 1991

Zishi Liu is a Boston-based saxophonist and music curator. He made history as the first Chinese artist to play at Boston’s famed Regattabar in collaboration with Blue Note Jazz Club in 2025. His work has been featured by WGBH, contributing to the broader narrative of Asian representation in jazz.

As a performer and composer, Zishi’s music seeks to create and resolve new tensions between familiar and foreign themes. The melancholic aspects of Coltrane's later work—which incorporates Eastern concepts of meditation and emptiness—serve as a departure point for his music.

Lucious Crawford

Born: September 15, 2006

Lucious Crawford is a saxophonist and composer based in New York City, dedicated to preserving the spirit of traditional jazz while embracing the evolving language of the genre. A native of Washington, D.C., Crawford began his musical journey at the age of three and has since developed a voice rooted in the expressive depth of straight-ahead jazz. His inaugural album, Ballads n Blues, captures the essence of his early artistic vision—melding lyrical balladry with the soulful grit of blues in a way that honors the lineage of great jazz storytellers. Crawford’s playing is the great Hank Mobley, whose warm tone, melodic phrasing, and understated brilliance deeply shaped his approach to the tenor saxophone

Doc Stewart

Born: November 26, 1960

Chris “Doc” Stewart is a retired ER doctor from the Mayo Clinic who now performs regularly with the his own group as well as several other local groups in the Phoenix area. A multi-instrumentalist, he plays saxophone, flute, and clarinet in a variety of musical genres. His chart-topping recordings include “Phoenix” (2005) and “Code Blue” (2016).  Jazz critic Leonard Feather wrote: “The lead alto saxophonist, Dr. Chris Stewart, practices emergency medicine for a living, but leads the reed team flawlessly.” Doc Stewart has recorded with groups and artists such as Louis Bellson, Woody Herman, Wayne Bergeron, Toni Tennille, Matt Catingub, the Phoenix Symphony, and many others

Stabe Wilson

Stabe Wilson: A Saxophonist Extraordinaire

Passionate, soul-stirring, and eclectic—these adjectives perfectly capture the essence of saxophonist Stabe Wilson's musical journey. Hailing from Oakland, California, Stabe's love affair with the saxophone began at the tender age of ten. By eleven, after a captivating performance at his father's church, he knew his calling was to share his extraordinary talent with the world. 

Stabe honed his craft studying music at Chabot Community College, College of Alameda, and San Francisco State University. At the College of Alameda, he had the privilege of being part of the Big Band under the legendary jazz pianist Bill Bell, which further shaped his musical foundation.

Bernell Jones II

Born: March 12, 1998

Originally from Memphis, TN, Bernell Jones II is a saxophonist and songwriter based in NYC. He is known not only for his playing, but also for disrupting the content creation industry in the music sector with his consistent stream of viral music-comedy videos on Instagram and TikTok. 

Bernell picked up the saxophone at age ten after primarily playing piano for four years. This was a huge turning point in his life. Although he doesn’t consider himself a professional pianist, it aided him in enhancing his compositional skills and his understanding of music. 

His discography showcases a variety of musical influences from his upbringing such as gospel, jazz, blues, R&B, etc. Bernell has worked alongside artists such as Kem , Ms. Lauryn Hill , Olivia Dean, Wyclef Jean, Philip Harper, Julius Rodriguez, and more. He credits his style of writing to the influences his parents played around the house growing up such as Earth, Wind & Fire, Michael Jackson, Maxwell, and Janet Jackson, along with jazz influences such as Roy Hargrove, Miles Davis, and Herbie Hancock. 

Andy Page

Born: September 1, 1990

Andy Page is a New Orleans based woodwind player, composer, and arranger. His primary instrument is the alto saxophone, but he is adept on all saxophones, as well as flute and clarinet. He can be heard playing many styles of music, from pupular to niche, with unwavering fervor and respect for the craft. As a sideman, Andy has toured both nationaly and internationally and has contributed arrangements and compositions to several records. As a leader, he released is debut record in the Jazz idiom in october of 2023 and has also released EP's in the rock and experimental genres under the moniker "Brungo Jowl".

Anthony Bruno

Anthony Bruno has dedicated his life to music as a performer, educator, and creator. Born into a musical family, playing music has been a hallmark of his existence. Rooted in jazz but drawn to pop, rock and R&B, Anthony writes and plays unapologetically from the soul.  As described by Andrew Meriwether on 91.5 WBEZ, “(Bruno) has this ability to create melodies on the saxophone and I swear that I hear lyrics in my head when I hear these saxophone lines. I don’t know how he does it, it’s truly astounding." Since 2020, he has had a burgeoning career as a solo artist including 12 record and single releases of his own including his latest release entitled Cefalù, a sonic story about places known and fantasized. He has garnered over 3 Million Spotify streams for his releases and has been selected to 14 Spotify Editorial Playlists ranging from Contemporary Jazz to R&B as well as 2 YouTube Music Editorial Playlists. Bruno has also performed at various prestigious music festivals such as the New York City Winter Jazz Festival, the Chicago Jazz Festival, and the Chicago Blues Festival.
