M-Carlos

M-Carlos a.k.a Carlos Mejias is a Cuban born saxophonist, composer, producer,music educator & beat maker. Born into a notorious musical family on the island, raised up in between the very musical cities Santiago de Cuba and La Habana City, where attended to renowned classical music Conservatory , where he got licensed with honors. Quickly became interested and engaged on the exciting Havana jazz scene, wining the Cuban National Jazz Competition “JoJazz” hosted by Chucho Valdes at age 18 as well an special price from the cuban music academy for an original composition called Parranda en el C.A.I. At this time leads his own group alongside some of the next generation Cuban Jazz lions as Gaston Joya( currently featured bassist of Chucho Valdes) or the great cuban trumpeter Alejandro Delgado (Interactivo , among others), The Group was both Featured at the Havana Jazz fest and the Barbados Heineken Jazz fest, opening for legends as Kenny Garret, the Yellow Jackets… As well back in Cuba got enrolled with all sorts of pop’ cuban music as “Timba” or cuban-hiphop. Made the move to Europe in 2007, as he got a scholarship to obtain a master degree at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, but short after quitted the school to pursue a career in Spain, where he was lucky enough to work as studio assistant producer for grammy® winner Hip-Hop MC & producer Yotuel Romero from Orichas, got enrolled at the Onjazz ( Spanish National Jazz Orchestra), and spent 2 years on tour with the Spanish electronica Hero’s Telephunken playing many major Festivals in Spain all across Europe and abroad alongside he shared the stage with names like Aphex Twin or “Fatboy Slim”, experiences that changed his understanding and approach to music, never limiting himself with musical genre ties and borders, or strange misconceptions of what it should be.

Ernesto Aurignac

Ernesto Aurignac is today one of the leading jazz saxophonists panorama in Spain. Born in Malaga where license classical saxophone at an early age at the Conservatory of Malaga. Then he moved to Barcelona where he studied jazz, modern harmony and improvisation on his own. He has acted throughout the whole Spanish geography always reaping critical and commercial successes. He has also performed in New York, Finland, Poland, Ecuador, France, Chile, Australia, Russia, Germany, Portugal, England, Canada and Mexico. Luis
Born:
Luis graduated as an instrumentalist and saxophone teacher from the National Conservatory of Music in Havana, Amadeo Roldan. He studied under the class of Carlos Averhoff. After completing his studies, Luis Nubiola was invited to go on stage by several distinguished Cuban jazz musicians including Jose Luis Cotes (El Tosco), José Miguel Credo (El Greco) and Díakara. He joined the Cuban music group PG, under the direction of the renowned conductor and flutist José Luis Cortes (El Tosco), founder of the famous NG La Banda group and Top Secret. In Cuba Luis Nubiola has also participated in several musical workshops and performed with Danilo Peres, Gonzalo Rubalcava, George Benson, Steve Coleman, Ralf Irizarry, and others. In 2001, Luis Nubiola moved to Costa Rica where he became one of the finest and most famous musicians, working with such artists as Walter Flores (Grammy winner), Robert Aguilar and “Chocolate Band”

Mat Walerian

Mat Walerian is a jazz saxophonist and woodwind player (alto saxophone, bass clarinet, soprano clarinet, flute), composer and bandleader who specializes in improvisation and avant-garde music. His studies were mostly focused on eastern philosophy and Japanese culture. With the exception of a few lessons he is self – taught musician, occasionally taking lessons from acknowledged masters Matthew Shipp and Hamid Drake, lessons which he has cited as being crucial to his development. His style is firmly in the mainstream of modern jazz and improvised music, somewhere around hard free bop with a tribute to the atonal avant-garde heritage

Born in South Carolina, He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the historic Claflin University Where he studied with Bryson Borgstedt. For Post Graduate Study, Titus attended the acclaimed North Carolina Central University Jazz Program where he had the privilege to study with Brian Horton, Joey Calderazzo, and Branford Marsalis. Based in Greensboro NC the Titus Gant Quartet combines a unique sound, groove and creativity within the Jazz tradition.

Elijah Shiffer
Elijah Shiffer is a New York-based musician who has been involved with nearly every facet of the city’s jazz scene as a saxophonist, bandleader, composer, arranger, editor, and critic. He currently leads three regularly performing bands, all of them quartets, and has released albums of each one. His most recent album is “City Of Birds, Volume 3”, the third of hopefully many installments in a collection of compositions inspired by every species of bird native to New York City. His previous album, "Dada Bebop”, features the Dada Bebop Quartet, in which he explores experimental possibilities of the bebop tradition while incorporating the influence of 1910s-20s Dada sound poetry. The third quartet is the Robber Crabs, which combines the influences of early jazz and avant-garde jazz; with this group he recorded his debut album "Unhinged", released in April 2018. Elijah won an ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award with the title track from this album. From 2020 to 2023, Elijah also led the Star Jelly Horns, an eclectic, sax-heavy version of a New Orleans-style "brass" band, and recorded an album titled “Star Jelly”. Starting in 2021, Elijah has been making these recordings at the historic Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, releasing them on his own label also called Star Jelly.

I have played with James Morrison, James Muller, Christian Sands (USA), Carl Allen (USA), Rodney Whittaker (USA), Reginald Thomas (USA) and many more In recent times i've been featured on ABC, East side radio, Brag Magazine and Mx Newspaper I Have Played at Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Manly Jazz festival, Kinetic Jazz festival with my band and recently did a 2nd tour of Melbourne playing at the Paris Cat Jazz Club.
