I Dischi del 2025 secondo Ludovico Granvassu

Read "I Dischi del 2025 secondo Ludovico Granvassu" reviewed by Ludovico Granvassu

Read "Ludovico Granvassu's Garden Of Jazzy Delights 2025" reviewed by Ludovico Granvassu

Capturing the breathtaking beauty, range, and diversity of jazz released in 2025 through a list of “10 best albums" feels as challenging, vain--and ultimately disappointing--as trying to photograph the Grand Canyon at sunset by placing a pinhole in front of a rudimentary digital camera's lens. Sure, a picture will be taken. It might even prove you ...

Read "Live at Cliff Bell's - Vol. II" reviewed by Troy Dostert

There was no reason whatsoever for listeners who enjoyed trumpeter Michael Sarian's terrific 2024 release, Live at Cliff Bell's (Shifting Paradigm Records), to feel short--changed.  Capturing all the energy and excitement of a first-rate performance at the renowned Detroit jazz club from the previous year, the album traversed a wide spectrum of emotional registers and displayed ...

Michael Attias: Quartet Music Vol I: LuMiSong & Vol II: Kardamon Fall

Read "Quartet Music Vol I: LuMiSong & Vol II: Kardamon Fall" reviewed by John Sharpe

Saxophonist Michaël Attias has impressed on the NYC scene for over three decades. He has recorded with Paul Motian, Anthony Braxton and Taylor Ho Bynum, while artists like Eric Revis, Anthony Coleman and Kris Davis have covered his compositions. But despite such recognition, Attias's discography undeservedly languishes in single figures. His decision to issue ...
