Ross began studying the trumpet at age 10 in Seattle, WA. After several years of classical training, Ross began focusing on jazz almost exclusively. Now, he loves to play everything (good) under the sun. Even before extending his studies to Whitman College, Ross was fortunate to have unparalleled performance experiences with the Roosevelt High School Jazz Band. With Roosevelt, Ross toured Scandinavia, performing at the North Sea Jazz Festival and opened for Sting at the Pori Jazz Festival. The band also took top honors at Lincoln Center’s Essentially Ellington Competition, and featured Wynton Marsalis on "The Shepherd" in the final performance. At Whitman College, Ross focused lead his own jazz group, improvising and composing while working towards a B.A
