Read "John Zorn’s Masada, Tommy Flanagan, Jeff Parker" reviewed by David Brown

This week a trio of works featuring guitarist Jeff Parker, we then work our way tough a pile of recently acquired '80s LPs featuring lots of Tommy Flanagan, some Mulgrew Miller and Ronnie Mathews; and finally, we revisit John Zorn's Masada Quartet--leaders of the Radical Jewish Cultural movement of the '90s--who made their first recordings 30 ...

André Carvalho: The Garden Of Earthly Delights

Read "The Garden Of Earthly Delights" reviewed by Dan Bilawsky

This third album from Portuguese bassist André Carvalho is a study in contrasts. Mural: Shishi's Wish

I tratti costanti ...

Gran parte delle composizioni sono di Aki Ishiguro -sei su dieci -e ...

Beekman: Vol. 2

Read "Vol. 2" reviewed by Luca Muchetti

Niculin Janett Quartet (feat. Rich Perry): No Parking Any Time

Read "No Parking Any Time" reviewed by Matthew Aquiline

Zurich-based alto saxophonist and composer Niculin Janett, in the naming of his quartet's debut album, encapsulated the essence of his music with an otherwise vexatious phrase that regularly victimizes most city dwellers: No Parking Any Time. Although irritating for motorists, an ordinance prohibiting parking in terms of music, especially jazz, would seemingly stimulate perpetual movement and ...
