Reginald Payne was born in Washington, D.C. on September 9, 1989. He began playing drums at the age of 4, which started his love for music. By age 13 he had learned to play 6 instruments including piano, saxophone, tuba, trombone, bass, and by the time he graduated high school he had learned 5 additional instruments, which he continued to play in various school and church ensembles until he graduated high school in 2007. He has also been the music director, arranger, and composer for many of those ensembles. Reginald was featured on bass, saxophone, and vocals on DuVal High Schools first album and is the bassist on their alumni album. After graduating in 2007 Reginald received a full music scholarship to Bowie State University in Bowie, MD for piano and trombone where he studied Music Technology for two years. Following Bowie, he attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where he studied Bass and Professional Music with a concentration. After returning to the DMV area he started his band "Reggie Payne & TRIBE Inc." and the concept of Modern-Fusion a super genre consisting of attributes from all genres, which allows musicians to create across multiple genres in one composition while still honoring the traditions before them of traditional, modern, and fusion genres. On December 21, 2012 Reginald was blessed with his son "Malik Maximus Payne" and his life was forever changed for the better with more inspiration, motivation, and aspirations to take his career to a new level of music, joy, love, and creativity as he expressed in a song he wrote for his son called “Life’s Way” on Reggie Payne & TRIBE Inc.’s “Road To Destiny” CD. He started his solo career in 2014 with his “All Bass Creations” Series in which he creates every sound used to create the tracks using only my bass and effects.
