Musician

Reggie Wright

Born:

Reggie Wright was born October 10th 1973 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania; the second of 3 boys born to Reginald Sr. and Janise Wright (Furby). Reggie was raised in the Church of God In Christ and began singing in his early teen years. Having made the decision to sing as a vocation he began studying the vocal styling of many noted gospel singers such as The Hawkins Family, The Clark Sisters and Vanessa Bell Armstrong. Being one dimensional vocally worked for a while until he heard the late Sarah Vaughan sing “Body and Soul” on television and it forever changed his interpretation of song. While the music of the church will always be present and evident; jazz and R & B became great peripheral interests. After arriving in California in the summer of 2002, Reggie pursued jazz music of the late 40’s, 50’s and 60’s
