Peter Protschka, born in 1977, is a German jazz trumpet player actually based in Cologne who is currently working and recording a lot on the European scene. He studied at the Hochschulen für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Mannheim and Cologne and was awarded with the renowned Jazzaward of the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart in 2004. He worked with Don Menza, Maria Schneider, Alex Sipiagin, Kenny Wheeler among many others.In February 2008 he released his debut album with a band of consummate european jazz musicians entitled "Point of view" featuring his own compositions.
