Omar J. Correa started out early in life with the destiny to be an artist. Having the talent for drawing and painting, he followed this path which eventually crossed with his love for music. Art being his first calling he underwent formal studies and has established himself as an original and respected painter. Music was also a strong personal appeal, and so starting out first on the bongos and other percussion instruments, he quickly progressed on to the marimba and then the vibraphone, an instrument on which he is entirely self-taught. Hailing from Mayaguez, Puerto Rico he has been active in local groups as the Jehovanisis (Gospel Choir Group) Manapeniel (Rock & Roll) The Majestic (Choral) and Sacred Jazz which was the islands first Christian Jazz ensemble
