Ofer Shapira

Ofer Shapira is a Tel-Aviv based Saxophone/multi-wind player and Jazz composer/arranger. Ofer has played lead alto with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. the Eli Degibri big band, the Eyal Vilner big band and many other bands and is also a member of the Mamelo Gaitanopolous Sextet, the Danny Rosenfeld Octet and his own jazz quartet. In the field of popular music he has recorded or performed with leading Israeli singers such as Ilanit, Yoni Rechter, Matti Caspi, Rona Kenan and others. He has played in the Broadway production of the musical ‘Chicago’, and in many other theater productions. Ofer spent six years in New York in the early 2,000’ playing, writing and studying music
