A contemporary jazz with mixed influences, focused on overall cohesion rather than individual virtuosity; this is what Montreal based trio Misc aim for. If the musicians hail from the jazz tradition they are clearly not limited to it, flirting mainly with pop, rock and electronic music and using a wide range of effects, sampled field recordings and orchestration tricks. With an extended experience of several tours across Canada and Europe, the band Misc launched their self-titled album in the spring of 2016. That year, the album was nominated at the ADISQ Awards Gala in the Jazz Album of the Year category
