Mike Savino, born 1976 in Oceanside, NY is a musician based in New York City. Performing on upright bass, electric bass, 5-string banjo, as well as homemade instruments he has toured and recorded with the likes of Kate Havnevik, Ljova, Gina Gershon, Leroy Powell, Scott Kettner's Nation Beat, and The Klezmatics amongst many others. Savino is a composer and singer/songwriter in his own right crafting music that draws from a fascination with American Roots and circus music and his extensive study of Afro-Brazilian rhythms.
