Maite Hontelé

Dutch trumpeter Maite Hontelé used to tour the world with her salsa-band, but decided to change her live-path.

Hontelé lived in Medellín, Colombia for almost 10 years, where she recorded 4 albums as a band-leader. She was nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2014 and 2019 and was named 'Artist of the Year' by the Colombian national public radio. She toured and recorded with Latin music legends such as Ruben Blades, Oscar D'León, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Orquesta Aragón, Alain Pérez, Juancho Valencia and many more.

In 2018 Hontelé returned to her homeland, where she became artistic director for the Music Meeting Festival
