He mostly feels interested in sciences (computer science, biology, aeronautics) since he comes across « Giant steps » (J. Coltrane) & « Kind of Blue » (M. Davis) albums, brought to home by his sister. At 14 years old, it is an emotional shock, music really becomes essential. He starts to play the saxophone at the local brass band, while listening to all jazz records found at the public librairy. After having passed a scientific General Certificate, he definitely takes a direction towards music ; he studies at the national conservatory of music in his hometown (classical and jazz music) while following university studies in musicology
