Jazz has been his primary interest since high school, when he was captivated by The Bill Evans Trio recordings (particularly the later ones with Joe LaBarbera on drums). He has remained insatiably curious and enthusiastic about trends in jazz and jazz drumming, and is always engaging as a performer, listener, and audience member, finding inspiration to push the envelope in his own playing

Daversa is a versatile and respected performer, composer, arranger, producer, bandleader, and educator. He took an immediate interest in music at an early age, first through piano and voice, and later with trumpet and EVI (Electronic Valve Instrument).

Paul Jackson Jr

Born and based in Los Angeles and a member of numerous local bands from his early teens, including a band composed of himself and his siblings, Paul Jackson, Jr. very quickly established his skill and sensitivity and was soon called upon to do many R&B and pop sessions, as well as jazz dates. Jackson began his own solo recording career in the late 80’s. However, it was not until a decade later that his musical maturity, much imitated distinctive style, and significant musical and technical skills made him a favorite among live audiences and his becoming recognized by many as the most recorded guitarist in the world. Though Jackson never got to meet or work with one of his chief guitar/musical influences, Wes Montgomery, he has forged professional relationships with all the others who touched his formative years, including Gary Bell, Earl Klugh, George Benson, Ray Parker Jr., George Duke, Al McKay , Lee Ritenour, along with his mentor, Patrice Rushen, Paul has appeared on the recordings of other superstars such as Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Elton John, Barbara Streisand, Celine Dion, Quincy Jones, Luther Vandross, Boney James, Kenny Rogers, Barry White, Chicago, and many others

Steve Hass
After attending Boston's prestigious Berklee College Of Music on full scholarship, Steve Hass moved to New York City joining the Ravi Coltrane Group. Along side Lonnie Plaxico, Michael Cain, and Ralph Alessi, Steve was playing a mixture of hard bop, funky odd meter grooves and free improvisation in Ravi's band. During his five years with the group, Hass was also freelancing and recording with several local singer/songwriters and working at jingle houses in New York City including Fluid Post Music, Three Tree Productions, Ian London Productions, and Red House to name a few. He had local weekly gigs with The Bitter End house band, The Blue Note house band and Monday nights at Zinc Bar with The Ron Affif Trio. He also had touring stints with artists such as, Richard Bona, Christian McBride, Suzanne Vega, Miri Ben Ari and many more. The Ravi Coltrane group gave Steve his first major label album credit for the critically acclaimed Mad 6, released on Sony Music, as well numerous european tours. At 24 years of age, Hass was touring and recording with some of the world's most influential artists and making a name for himself as an in demand session musician.

Reed Gratz
Born:
Reed Gratz is a Professor of Music and department chair at the University of La Verne. He has taught at Washington State University, University of Miami, University of Innsbruck, Utrecht Conservatory and Leiden University in the Netherlands, and is a visiting professor of music in the history department at Claremont McKenna College. He is on the Advisory Board of the American Jazz Institute along with Mort Sahl and Lee Konitz. Reed has been awarded a jazz composition grant from the NEA; a research grant in African-American music by the NEH; two Senior Fulbright Lectureships, one at the University of Innsbruck, the other, the Walt Whitman Distinguished Chair of American Culture Studies at the Leiden University; and the Excellence in Teaching Award for undergraduate faculty at the University of La Verne
