Tower of Power: 50 Years of Funk and Soul

Read "50 Years of Funk and Soul" reviewed by John Pietaro

In the realm of power funk and jazz-rock, Tower of Power was an original voice, one carved from a unique place within an exceptionally heady moment. And this convergence of forces, clearly, has yet to cool some 53 years hence. Horns? They've carried up to six at a time, to hell with diminished door ...

This show reminds me of a calzone stuffed with just about every imaginable filling. Appropriately, there's a wonderful new release from Italian drummer Francesca Remigi and her band Archipelagos. Jeremy Warren: I Can Do All Things

Read "I Can Do All Things" reviewed by Jack Bowers

If the title of drummer Jeremy Warren's debut album sounds a tad hyperbolic, that's because Warren has faced and overcome more than his share of adversity en route to living his dream. All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
