Singer-Songwriter Laurie Early has been writing songs since about the age of six. She clearly remembers creating her own lyrics and musical adaptation of The Four Tops’ Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch as she walked to school one Spring morning and realized that she could write a song if she wanted to, it was a truly empowering moment. She has only recently begun performing with a jazz focus but has performed in other styles for over 20 years in the New York metro area. She has begun writing a series of modern jazz pieces, and is studying technique with established musicians in the New York jazz community.
