MUSICIAN Born:

King Oliver's Revolver

A few words from Tom Maxwell … As a musician and songwriter, I have only ever tried to please myself and my colleagues. While the brief success that I enjoyed in the Squirrel Nut Zippers was gratifying, true validation was to come later. I still hear from fans who have been touched by my music; who have incorporated it into their lives, as a soundtrack to triumph and tragedy. This is deeply moving. What could only be possibly better is hearing from musicians who cite me as inspiration. This is as much immortality as I can hope for! To be clear, I have never considered myself an innovator of anything, unless one innovates through synthesis

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
