Kevin Supina

Born:

Currently a student at the Manhattan School of Music, saxophonist Kevin Supina was born and raised in State College, Pennsylvania. Kevin first began playing alto saxophone at age 8, and picked up tenor, baritone, and soprano during middle school and high school. He was a featured soloist with the State College Area High School Jazz Band, appearing at the Montreux Jazz Festival, Umbria Jazz Festival, Jazz a Juan, and Jazz a Vienne. In 2009, at the prestigious Essentially Ellington competition held at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Kevin was named an Outstanding Alto Saxophone Soloist and had the opportunity to play alongside JALC member Sean Jones. In 2009, Kevin was selected as the Baritone Saxophonist for the Music Educator’s National Conference All-Eastern Jazz Band, where he worked under the direction of Sherrie Maricle and performed with The Boston Brass
