He began performing classical clarinet solos around town at age 8. Jason feel in love with the tone of the saxophone and quickly switched over to tenor sax. The teachers that help nurture his natural talent are Rev. Sly Wallace, Dean Hill and Norman Fisher. Jason Davis leads his own jazz quintet They've appeared in shows with Roy Ayers, David "fat head" Newman, Roy Hargrove, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott and a special performance for the Mexican Consulate General
