Ize Trio
Active since:
The story of Ize Trio begins in Boston at the Berklee Global Jazz Institute. This special program and community founded by Danilo Pérez brings students and mentors together from all over the globe to collaborate, innovate, and create global diplomacy through music. The three of us met through this community as students (and now professors) and became good friends. Our mentors Danilo Pérez, John Patitucci, Joe Lovano, Adam Cruz, and many more, opened the doors for us to explore music multiculturalism and social activism. Inspired, we officially began the Ize Trio in 2019, seeking to bring our musical backgrounds from the US, Cyprus, and Palestine to the table and connecting through concepts of improvisation and Global Jazz.
Chef’s K.I.S.S.
by Patrick Burnette
A nice, straight-forward jazz album caught Mike's ear, so he decided to do a podcast devoted to new releases that don't over egg the pudding, or as Google suggested, “go all around Robin Hood's barn?" (Google's been drinking again). Anyway, while he came up with two fine straight-ahead examples, Pat's offerings ended up a little thornier, ...

by Bob Osborne
This weeks playlist highlights musical contrast and deep ensemble chemistry. The selection begins with hypnotic grooves, cinematic depths, and global, prayerful textures, before navigating lyrical introspection and evocative writing. The second half features a run of heavy-hitters, including fiery electric fusion live from Montreal, precise chamber-jazz, and intimate hard-bop recorded straight from the bandstand. The music ...
Ize Trio: Global Prayer
by Alberto Bazzurro

While the playlist highlights the ...
