MUSICIAN Born:

Q Morrow

Well schooled in many styles of music and guitar technique, Q is a rare breed of guitarist who feels at home in any style of music, on any guitar. Having studied extensively jazz, funk, pop, rock, and classical guitar here in the far West, Carnatic (South Indian Classical) and Hindustani music in the far East, Brazilian and Cuban music on the side, it would be no stretch to say that his versatility is his strongest point. What sets him apart from other world musicians is the fact that his interest in music is spiritual, not technical. To Q, music is an offering. Growing up in Caldwell, Idaho, a suburb of Boise provided Q with ample practice time

MUSICIAN Born:

Axel Rigaud

Combining analog synthesizers and live wind instruments, Axel Rigaud constructs overwhelming soundscapes, plunging the listener into a hybrid musical universe where electronic and acoustic mediums effortlessly mesh as one. Starting in music at the ripe age of 6, Axel Rigaud began his saxophone studies at the Châlons Conservatory in the Champagne region. 20 years later, he graduated from the Paris Conservatory. For him, performing live implies taking risks, therefore his live performances always leave a major part to improvisation. Thus, his audiences become bathed in a swirl of electro-acoustic sounds which is always original and unique

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
