Born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1979. His first contact with music was playing the drums. After two years of studieshe started to play classical guitar at the age of 13. 2001 he moved to Barcelona and attended the Taller de Musics where he obtained a Degree in Jazz Performance. His most influential teachers where Vicens Solsona, Oscar Peñas, Vicens Marti, Joan Chamorro and Cristina Canet. He has attended master classes given by Ben Monder, Mark White, Mark Whitfield, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Steve Cardenas, John Scofield, Bruce Barth, Steve Wilson just to named a few. He has been invited to the JazzPuzzle for Europe in 2004, 2005 and 2006 where he drew inspiration from his main influence, Pierre Vaiana

Emanuele Basentini

Born:
Emanuele Basentini was born in 1971 in Potenza, in the south of Italy. Thanks to his father influence he starts to play the guitar since he was a child. At 13 he discovers his passion for Jazz music. In 1989 he attends Siena Jazz courses, where is notices buy lots of musicians. The next year he moves to Rome where starts an intense concerts career. Over the years he appears in many important European stages, he’s awarded in several competitions and develops his experience as teacher in Music Academies, schools and seminaries. He records as leader "JUST IN TIME” , (Philology W 135) in 1998, “RED AND BOSS BAND” (Micca Records– Roma) in 2007; “THE BEST THING FOR YOU“ (Red Record – Milano) in 2008. In 2010 Emanuele Basentini moves to New York where he plays at such clubs as Smalls, Fat Cat, Kitano, Little Brunch, Piano Due, Le Cirque, St.Nick, ecc..

Oyvind Nypan

Born:
Nypan is a guitar player born in Trondheim, Norway. After playing rock as a teenager at the local music scene he turned to jazz after hearing Steps Ahead for the first time. His musical direction changed to jazz even though the love for rock/pop still remained. He took his music studies at the University of Agder in Kristiansand and the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, playing in different groups and projects. After moving to Paris he became a member of the Fredrika Stahl band, recording and touring around the world for a couple of years. This led to new musical relationships, new albums and new tours. His first album as a leader ”Elements” was recorded in 2010 and features the france bass player Pierre Boussaguet as well as the eminent saxophone player Petter Wettre and Shining keyboard monster Bernt Moen.. His second album ”Republique” was recorded in Paris with tenor player Rick Margitza and was well recieved by the jazz public. The new Nypan Trio album ”Directions” will be released the 9th of Mai, 2015 with his organ trio featuring Daniel Formo on Hammond organ and Truls Rønning on drums. Gary Zellerbach

Gary Zellerbach is a popular Bay Area guitarist and proud fifth generation native San Franciscan. He received his first guitar on his 13th birthday and has been playing ever since. While in high school, Gary studied jazz guitar with noted local instructor Dave Smith and played in numerous blues and rock bands around San Francisco. Next stop was college near Boston, where Gary continued his jazz guitar studies with Andy Caponigro and famed jazz guitarist and educator Mick Goodrick. Steve Bloom

Steve Bloom started out learning American Folk and Popular Songs from the 50’s, 60’s and early 70’s. He then began studying Classical Guitar. In 1981 he studied with Jazz teacher, Bruce Bednarsky. Steve went to Tulane University in New Orleans from ‘82-’84, where he studied Classical Harmony, Theory, and played in the school Big Band. New Orleans greatly influenced his perspective and feel in playing music and what it means to have an enthusiastic audience.
In ’84 Steve transferred to the Jazz program at Long Island University in Brooklyn. There he studied with a number of great musician/educators including Bill Saxton, Benny Powell, Ronnie Matthews, Cecil Bridgewater, etc., and Reggie Workman, who was to become a great mentor.

John Fifield

John began his musical career in Connecticut playing in regional rock and Top 40 cover bands and in the jazz circuit throughout the Hartford area. After private study with Bob Kobus, Dave Santoro and Bob Thompson and completing coursework at the Hartford Conservatory in 1980, he relocated to the South Florida area in 1981 and began playing in a wide variety of live and studio settings ranging from reggae to straight-ahead jazz to rap/bass and everything in between. Notable performance and/or recording credits include - John "Spider" Martin, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Joe Locke, Don Miller, Joel Rosenblatt, Ric Fierabracci, Lou Donaldson, Ron Perillo, Teddy Mulet, Lee Levin, David Fernandez, Randy Singer, Gene Ludwig, the New World Symphony and many more. John's primary focus nowadays is production, composition and session work out of The Music Box, his recording facility in Hollywood, Florida and with the Miami-based session team at www.gorangrooves.com. Ric Harris has made a few changes to The Harris Group since last year. In his 2012 review, John Book hoped the “lineup will continue for awhile”, and the new CD, Errands, not only relies on two of them, vibraphonist Micah Rutschman and drummer Tom Haugen, but also adds a new bass player, Mason Cormie, who plays both electric and acoustic bass. The guests on this release, violinist Daniela Bisenius and flutist Jack Scott, help to define the tracks on which they appear.
