Hein Westgaard

Born:
Hein Westgaard is a guitarist, improviser and composer from Oslo, currently based in Copenhagen. He can be heard in the post-minimalistic quartet Ototoi, his own genre bending project Hein Westgaard Trio, in ad-hoc free improvised constellations, or in the solo acoustic guitar format where he focuses on his own instrumental songs in the fingerpicking tradition.
The members of Hein Westgaard Trio met in Copenhagen in 2017, and since then they have deepened and matured their unique form of interplay, preparing themselves for the international stage.
Playing their very own kind of experimental music, Hein Westgaard Trio is clearly inspired by free improvisation and jazz, but also by country, rock, folk and classical music

Art Boffi

My fascination with the guitar began at an early age. I became serious about the instrument after hearing Jeff Beck’s “Blow by Blow” album, a recording that I consider to have served as a turning point in my musical development. This experience sparked my interest in other artists associated with jazz/rock fusion, traditional jazz, and smooth jazz. Over the years, I also became interested in guitar synthesizers and electronic music in general, always keeping an open mind to anything new and exciting that would come my way. Much of this technology has found its way into my music to some degree

Peter Janson

Guitarist Peter Janson lives in Boston Massachusetts and has been forging his own path as an independent solo guitarist since 1999. Building what he considers a meaningful life, Peter’s music events are an important part of that - he performs concerts, tours regularly, founded his own Eastern Woods Music label, gives guitar workshops, and he directs jazz ensembles and private guitar lessons at the University of Massachusetts Boston. There aren’t many jazz guitarists today focusing exclusively on solo guitar, but for Janson playing solo jazz guitar is both his passion and love - he is inspired by the solo guitar works of players like Pat Metheny, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and Wolfgang Muthspiel, as well as jazz legends such as Joe Pass, Earl Klugh, and Jim Hall
