Ryan Cohan

Throughout his critically acclaimed recordings as a leader and as a collaborator with numerous leading jazz figures and world-class ensembles, Ryan Cohan has masterfully walked the line of writer and player, proving himself time and again to be a composer of rare vision as well as a highly versatile, powerfully expressive pianist

Recognized for his “ingenuity and virtuosity” (Chicago Tribune), Cohan’s expansive oeuvre ranges from solo piano pieces to works for symphony orchestra and scores for independent films. He has produced six albums of original compositions: Real World (Real World Music); Here and Now (Sirocco Jazz); One Sky (Motéma), named one of the year’s best recordings by the Chicago Tribune and a number of jazz publications; Another Look (Motéma), hailed as “a model for modern jazz piano albums” by ICON magazine; and The River (Motéma) which features Ryan’s sixty-minute suite inspired by his travels in Africa.

OJT

OJT builds on the classic organ jazz trio by mixing old school Kansas City jazz with blues and a modern funky groove.  Ken Lovern on Hammond organ, Kenny Watson Jr. on drums, and Brian Baggett on guitar play equal parts in balanced arrangements with outstanding improvisations. OJT has been a band for more than 20 years and it shows.  Kenny Watson Jr. has been with the group for just over two years, and he brings a fresh groove to the old school organ jazz jams.

Ken Lovern

Born: November 20, 1965

Ken Lovern is the hammond organist and composer that drives the bus that is OJT. Ken was born in the Kansas City area on November 20, 1965, and he has been a professional musician most of his adult life. Even before graduating from the Conservatory of Music of the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1989, Ken went to work with legendary Kansas City vocalist, Ida McBeth. Ken currently plays at the Green Lady Lounge most nights in any given week. OJT plays there every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night.   Ken also plays with Guitar Elation, featuring legendary guitarist Danny Embrey, on Thursday nights.  

Field Notes

Field Notes is an Ottawa-based story-telling band. Centred around the core line-up of saxophonist Peter Woods and guitarist Kyle Jordan, Field Notes intentionally seek inspiration from musical and non-musical sources as a method of creating. A largely collaborative project, Field Notes is often expanded in performances and recordings to include a host of other Ottawa musicians and creatives.

Andrea Longato

Born: November 6, 1983

Andrea Longato is an established guitarist, composer, and producer whose career spans a wide range of musical genres and outlets. With over a decade of experience as a bandleader, Andrea has showcased his original music at countless venues and festivals across Europe and the US. His original music draws inspiration from notable instrumentalists such as Bill Frisell, Wayne Krantz, and Daniel Lanois, embodying a cross-genre aesthetic that is both contemplative and vibrant.

Andrea recently formed an exciting new trio with renowned musicians Rob Heath (Jim Campilongo, Justin Townes Earle) and Bryan Percivall (Verité, Britney Spears), performing his own compositions alongside unique renditions of pop and rock classics. His live performances are celebrated for their eclectic blend of influences and styles, all anchored by a commitment to improvisation and exploration that is quintessentially jazz. Andrea’s debut full-length album, “Thinking Heart,” is scheduled for release in January 2025.

Estefano Rodrigo

Artist, composer, singer, instrumentalist, music producer, and dancer, Estéfano Rodrigo develops a body of work guided by an intimate perception of music, shaped with discipline and responsibility. His approach is not driven by market logic, but by a personal sense of time and truth, respecting the pace of each creation and the relationships that emerge throughout the process.

Between vocal and instrumental expression, he sustains aesthetic unity and authorial coherence, treating each element with intention — from arrangement to execution. His work is built through consistency, without haste, remaining faithful to what is essential in each piece.

Liselotte Östblom

Chris DeRosa

Born: August 19

Chris DeRosa is a Professional Freelance Drummer/Producer/Composer who currently lives in New York City, although his experience has taken him to many parts of the world (over 55 countries). Chris was born in New Haven, Connecticut but later moved to nearby Guilford where he took up the drums. At a very young age Chris was mesmerized by the sounds of the ecm record label he would hear pouring out of his radio on WPKN’s late night Jazz program. He was fortunate enough to get a scholarship to attend the Educational Center For The Arts (ECA) High School and at 16 studied with North Texas University famed Drumset Professor Ed Soph while he was on sabbatical in Connecticut.
