MUSICIAN Born:

Grace Black

I began singing jazz at the ripe old age of 46 in 2006, taking lessons from a great jazz pianist and vocal coach called George King. A few months after I started lessons I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and had to give up for 7 months while undergoing treatment. After I got the all clear in May 2007 I decided to change to working part time and pursue a semi professional singing career as well as raising money for Cancer Research UK and I have since done 4 concerts and recorded a cd to benefit the charity. You can hear samples and buy the cd on my websites. www.graceblackmusic.com www.myspace.com/gracesblack You can also download some individual tracks by visiting http://indiestore.7digital.com/graceblack

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
