Gabriel Solomon

Violinist Gabriel Solomon made his solo debut with the Calcutta Foundation Orchestra in Calcutta, India, and has appeared as a recitalist in the United States, Canada, and India. He has toured in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, and South Africa, and has been heard across Canada on CBC Radio. His repertoire includes works by Webern, Berg, Shostakovich, Cage, Davidovsky and Pärt, and also significant pieces from the viola repertoire, including Feldman's Rothko Chapel, Berio's Folk Songs, Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante, and Bartok's Viola Concerto.

Mr. Solomon has been a featured soloist at Brandeis University and MIT. As an orchestral musician, has performed with Opera North, as principal violist of the Lexington Symphony, and with the Vermont and New Hampshire Symphonies. As a chorister, he has performed repertoire including the Tallis motet for 40 voices and the world premiere of the complete "Messe des Pauvres" by Eric Satie. In 1997, Mr. Solomon traveled as a street musician through cities in Europe from Paris to Venice, performing an impromptu solo recital at the Greek Theater in Barcelona.
