Jukka Haavisto – Löyly Syndicate is a new international ensemble led by Finnish bassist and composer Jukka Haavisto, one of the most distinctive Nordic voices in contemporary jazz fusion. The project weaves together Finno-Ugric melodic heritage, Nordic jazz atmospheres, and the electric energy of modern fusion, creating a sound world that feels both ancient and forward-looking.

The name löyly—the rising steam and vital spirit of the Finnish sauna—captures the essence of the music: transformation, intensity, and the deep, breathing warmth of northern culture. Löyly Syndicate’s music unfolds like a ritual, where rhythm, melody, and improvisation interact in constantly evolving forms.

Born: March 17, 1981

Jukka Haavisto is a new generation bassvirtuoso from Finland. He is a studio- and live musician who currently plays and performs with his newly established focusing on the upcoming release of his debut album and with many different directors, artists, and line-ups such as Jukka Haavisto, Bossapoika, Beat, Bass & Bone, Heiskanen Bayatz Baharat, VENHA sekä Helsinki Headnod Convention.

Haavisto studied at University of Stavanger, Institute of Music and Dance, and graduated as Master of Music Performance & jazz improvisation in 2016. Nowadays he is known for his fretless bass, jazz fusion, and world music fusion compositions, and skillful improvisations.
