Originally from Indonesia and now based in New York City, pianist Francesca Prihasti is jazz
pianist/composer on the international jazz scene.
Prihasti graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2012 (BMus) and New York University in
2018 (MMus), during which time she studied privately with the likes of Judy Bailey and Mike Nock (AUS) as
well as Kevin Hays, Alan Broadbent, Peter Bernstein, Drew Gress, Ari Hoenig and Alan Ferber (USA)
Prihasti has performed in Indonesia, Australia and the United States at various jazz venues and festivals
such as Motion Blue Jakarta, Java Jazz Festival, Jazz goes to Campus, Jazzgroove Association, Venue 505,
Colbourne Avenue, Manly Jazz Festival, Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival, The Sound Lounge,
Provincetown Playhouse, Silvana, Shrine, Club Bonafide, and ShapeShifter Lab.
In 2017, Prihasti was selected as a promising artist to represent the New York University jazz department
with performances and masterclasses in Costa Rica.
