Born in Weert, Holland and still residing there, Eric began playing the guitar at the age of 12 inspired by the classic Kiss album "Alive 1". By the time Eric reached the age of twenty, he performed in several bands. Most notable from this era of his formative career was the band DREAMER where he was also the lead singer. With this band he won a contest "NU of NOOIT". The band played as opening act at the PINKPOP festival. In this period Eric played also in a rock to soul bluesband where he travelled back and forth across Holland playing live gigs. 1994 Eric was asked to join the band MENNEN at the age of twenty three
