EMMY was born in Torrance, California, United States on December 14th, 1999. The twenty year old singer song-writer grew up as an only child in Long Beach, California. Growing up without any siblings, she said, allowed her to become submerged in the arts. Always interested in art in all it forms, EMMY developed a passion for music, and writing. Her father, a music enthusiast born in 1952, passed his taste onto her and she grew up listening to artists such as Barbara Lewis, Betty Everett, Minnie Riperton, Amy Winehouse, and Duffy. She slowly became all consumed in honing in her musical talents, and used her inspirations to help her find her style
