The music of bassist and composer Emiliano Lasansky unifies elements of the past and present in exciting and unexpected new ways. Born and raised in Iowa City, Iowa and currently residing in Los Angeles, CA, Emiliano currently maintains a busy schedule as a performer across the West Coast and beyond. Recent highlights include a 2024 composition award in the Bridges Competition - David Baker Prize at the Ravinia Music Center, 2023 ASCAP Foundation composition award as well as a master’s degree from the prestigious Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz Performance at UCLA (formerly the Thelonious Monk Institute).
