Ernst Bier
Born:
Ernst Bier studied drums with Billy Brooks, Charlie Persip, Vernell Fournier, and Elvin Jones. He lived and worked in New York City from 1982 through 1987. After his return to Germany he lived first in Cologne, and later in Berlin, where he leads a continually running series of jazz workshops. The list of musicians with whom he has worked reads like a "Who's Who" of jazz. With his dedication, his sensitive playing style, and his constructive approach, he is a highly valued drummer who is continually in demand.

Ethan Winogrand

Ethan Winogrand was born in New York City. He started playing guitar at five years old, teaching himself songs from the radio and the various records of his family. He began private lessons and added piano to his studies. When fifteen he discovered drums and from then on there was no turning back. In 1976 at the age of seventeen he joined the rock group "Joe Cool", who were part of the early punk scene at CBGBs and Max's Kansas City in NYC and who performed at those clubs one week or more each month with other usual suspects like "Talking Heads"," Television"," Blonde","John Cale","The Ramones" ect..

Emanuele Maniscalco

Born in Brescia (Italy) in 1983, he started playing piano at the age of eight and drums at twelve. He studied drums on his own, and took piano lessons with Roberto Soggetti and Corrado Guarino. In 2005 he began studying classical piano with Massimiliano Motterle.
He started playing jazz seriously in 2000, after meeting Corrado Guarino and William Tononi, then attending Berklee Summer Masterclasses at Umbria Jazz '01, where he was recognized for Outstanding Musicianship. He studied Trio Performance at Fondazione Siena Jazz from 2001 until 2003 with pianist Stefano Battaglia, bassist Paolino Dalla Porta and drummer Fabrizio Sferra. He attended Siena Jazz Summer Masterclasses twice (2003 and 2004), receiving a scolarship to join the 14th IASJ Meeting in Freiburg, Germany

Darren leads both electric and acoustic jazz ensembles based in NYC. The Darren Lyons Group is now in it's 15th year. The group started at the Knitting Factory, NYC in 1996 and held the prestigious Saturday night slot at the Tap Bar until 2004. The latest DLG CD "Evil Genius" was produced by David Sancious (Sting, Peter Gabriel). Manolo Badrena (Weather Report,Ahamd Jamal) also performs on 4 tracks. The previous release, Resonator features a cast of NYC musicians that played the Knitting Factory in DLG such as Marco Benevento and Bernard Ullrich. It was mixed by John Arrias (Jeff Beck)

His dream growing up was to be a professional baseball player and would lead to scholarship offers from numerous universities, including Boston and Capital University.
At Kent State University, Darryl dropped his pursuit of baseball and became a member of a band which featured “In Living Color” and “Comedy.TV” comedian AJ Jamal on keys.

Biography Chris Bitten Drummer/Songwriter,Chris Bitten has been involved in music since the age of 6.His parents discovered his ability to play along to music in perfect timing while emulating playing drums on the kitchen table.At the age of 8 his parents bought him his first set of drums ,by the age of 12 Chris was already playing drums behind some very prominent local choirs in his native home town of Birmingham,Alabama.His talent led him to writing and producing a gospel album which was entitled " The Bitten's",which recieved regular rotation on a local radio station.At age 19 Chris became one of the co founders of a very popular jazz band in the B'ham area called "Top Secret", which played in popular jazz clubs and a host of private parties.It was in this band that led Chris to meet and record with Zebra Recording Artist "Eric Essix", in which he played drums on Eric's second cd for then Nova Records on a tune called "Out Da Frame".This is what inspired Chris to want to record his own tunes.By the age of 25 Chris started his own jazz band which was called"Xpoz'd" which became so popular that he was booked to perform for a welcoming party for the 1996 olympic committe that hosted the soccer games in Birmingham, Alabama, he also recieved great reviews in a local newspaper which stated that Chris was destined for stardom.Later on, Chris felt the need to persue his love for music and relocated to now home Atlanta,Georgia, where he played drums with music hall of famers "The Tams", whose hit single was "Be Young Be Foolish" and also the world renouned "Drifters" who performed the legendary song "Under The Board walk" which also led him to playing drums for blues legend " Clarence Carter" whose bigger hits were "Patches & Strokin".Touring with Clarence took Chris all over the world and even was featured in a major movie called " Another Day In Paradise" that starred "Melanie Griffith and actor James Woods"
