Growing up in upstate New York, Mike studied with percussionists Richard Albagli and James Peterscak and drummers John Riley, Ed Shaunessy and Bob Moses. He also, during that time, earned a B. of Ed. He is a graduate of Berklee College of music and has studied with, among others Bob Moses, Ian Froman, Skip Hadden and Joe Hunt. What began as hitting the drums after church service from the age of 4 flourished into what Miller Luwoye was called to do... playing drums with divine enablement (Grace)... After high school, Miller proceeded to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he did his grades in Jazz Drumming and a few years later he got a scholarship to study in the University where he earned a B.A (Hons) degree in Jazz Studies majoring performance. By divine opportunity he has worked with great musicians such as Jonathan Butler, Kim Burrell, Femi Temowo, Niki illes and many more

Avreeayl Ra

Chicago master drummer / percussionist AVREEAYL RA was born in Chicago on May 21st, 1947 and still lives there today. He is a renowned musician always in demand among visiting jazz artists in Chicago. Avreeayl’s father, Arthur "Swinglee" O’Neil, was a tenor saxophonist who was mentor to many young Chicago musicians, including John Gilmore, later the mainstay of Sun Ra’s Arkestra. (Avreeayl reports that John Gilmore had a crush on Avreeayl’s sister and so spent as much time as he could at the family house.) Swinglee O’Neil played in one of Sun Ra’s early Chicago bands, and Sun Ra played in one of Swinglee’s groups as well. Avreeayl is a long-term member of the Chicago AACM, his relationship with the seminal music organization having begun with early studies with AACM co-founder Kelan Philip Cohran

Mark Feinman
Mark Feinman is a drummer, composer and educator who is inspired by individual human experiences and a diverse range of musical influences. He has extensive performance experience playing with many wonderful musicians, including the trio La Lucha. Mark was awarded an Emerging Artist Grant from Creative Pinellas, the Think Small to Think Big Grant, a Jazz on Edge 13-in-13 commission, and a Project GenYes! residency to present a multi-media project raising awareness for Alzheimer’s disease at The Studio@620. As the drummer for the Tampa Bay-based trio La Lucha, Mark has performed at TEDxTampa Bay (2014), TEDxUSF (2015) & TEDxDouglasville (2017)

Eric Allen

Eric Allen began his career in percussion with a proverbial bang (no pun intended). He was spotted at the age of eleven while doing outreach work in south central Los Angeles by an advertising executive for Wuhan Percussion, who after taking one look at him decided that this was the kind of child that America would love to see run headfirst into one of the company's gongs. This advertising campaign was wildly popular for approximately two weeks (Eric even became a bit of a cult figure in the high stakes world of professional gong playing) at which time Wuhan decided he had outgrown his initial child like appeal and turned him out of their studios.
