Reuben Hoch

Born:

Drummer and composer Reuben Hoch was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1959. He was raised as an Orthodox Jew, attended Yeshiva, and prayed in the synagogues of various Chassidic Sects, including Munkatch and Satmar. He began playing the drums at the age of 12 and became interested in jazz while in high school. He began playing professionally at the age of 16. By the time he was a senior in high school, Reuben was quite active on the New York jazz scene and recorded with his first group, Repercussions. Heavily influenced by Art Blakey, Tony Williams, Jack DeJohnette and Elvin Jones, by age 19, Reuben was playing with Art Blakey sidemen Valery Ponomaerov, David Schnitter and Lonnie Plaxico

Bart Weisman

Bart Weisman is performing with his group on Cape Cod, Massachusetts and he has backed Suede, Shawnn Monteiro, Stephanie Jordan, Greg Abate, and Lou Colombo, to name a few. Bart is the Founder, Executive Producer & Performer for the Provincetown Jazz Festival, Provincetown Music Festival and the Host & Performer for the Provincetown Art Association Summer and Winter Jazz Concert Series. He also runs the only year-round Jazz Jam on the Cape. Prior to moving with his Wife to Provincetown, Bart performed in every major venue in Washington, DC and his group featured a number of performers such as Keter Betts (bass player for Ella Fitzgerald for 24 years) and Rebecca Parris for her Washington, DC Debut

Asaf Sirkis

Born in 1969 in Petah-Tikva, Israel, Asaf later moved to the town of Rehovot, where he spent his teens and early twenties. This was an influential move for Asaf, as it was here amongst the diverse cultural influences he found in Rehovot that Asaf began to show an interest in music and rhythm. In Rehovot he lived amongst people from North Africa, east and central Europe, and the Middle East. Living in Shaarayim, the Yemenite neighbourhood in Rehovot, Asaf was particularly drawn to Yemenite culture, music, and rhythms. At the age of 12 Asaf began drum lessons, while also having a strong interest in playing electric bass

Joe DeRenzo

Born Joseph Peter DeRenzo, November 1st 1958 in Orange County, CA. Fashions his own pair of drumsticks after seeing The Beatles on TV. While his dad's record collection included Frank Sinatra, Duke Ellington and Ray Charles, Joe was drawn to the sounds of the late 60's via album covers. Most notably Jimi Hendrix and Cream. The music from such albums as "Are You Experienced?" and "Disraeli Gears" was in stark contrast to the vinyl turning on the home stereo. This juxtaposition of jazz and rock would would be the beginning of his musical influences. After hearing the Chick Corea album ''Light as a Feather'' and the Weather Report masterpiece ''Mysterious Traveller'', Joe began listening to the music of Keith Jarrett, Pat Metheny, John McLaughlin and Herbie Hancock. These influences have continued through the years, culminating in the release of Joe's two CDs he produced with the help of longtime friend and jazz pianist Tom Zink

For more than 25 years, Rafik Mankarios has been an active drummer playing in Montreal. His passion began in his early childhood and still today, music and rhythm captivate him. Rafik has been exposed to countless musical experiences at home and around the world that have helped establish the foundations of his present day solid experience. While avidly observing and listening to master inspirational drummers like Buddy Rich, Horacio Hernandez, Dave Weckl and many others, Rafik has benefited from the private teaching of well-known and respected Montreal drummers: Philippe Keyser and Bernard Primeau, who both enriched his musical learning in many ways. After driving bands, and more particularly many Montreal's top Big Bands, in shows, concerts, tours and recordings for more that 20 years, an opportunity to work in Switzerland led Rafik to more extraordinary musical experiences

Chris DeRosa

Born:

Chris DeRosa is a Professional Freelance Drummer/Producer/Composer who currently lives in New York City, although his experience has taken him to many parts of the world (over 55 countries). Chris was born in New Haven, Connecticut but later moved to nearby Guilford where he took up the drums. At a very young age Chris was mesmerized by the sounds of the ecm record label he would hear pouring out of his radio on WPKN’s late night Jazz program. He was fortunate enough to get a scholarship to attend the Educational Center For The Arts (ECA) High School and at 16 studied with North Texas University famed Drumset Professor Ed Soph while he was on sabbatical in Connecticut.
