Doug Scarborough
Doug Scarborough is a trombonist, bassist, pianist, guitarist, singer, songwriter, composer, and music educator equally at home in classical, jazz, and pop contexts. He has performed with top artists such as Arturo Sandoval, Grammy-winning bands like the Gypsy All-Stars and Mountain Heart, and the legendary guitar phenom Shawn Lane while winning three Down Beat jazz awards and contributing record reviews for the International Trombone Association Journal. On the classical side, in 2015 he performed Concerto for Trombone and Orchestra by Samuel Jones with the Walla Walla (WA) Symphony.

The Color of Angels, an engaging album by trombonist Doug Scarborough's sextet, blends music with a jazz heart and Middle Eastern temperament. Scarborough, who teaches at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, has worked toward expanding the jazz idiom to encompass rhythms and harmonies from countries and regions not usually associated with the music.
