After raduating from Towson State University in 1975, he established himself during a two-year engagement, touring extensively and recording three albums, with the highly acclaimed Stan Kenton Orchestra. Douglas Purviance is the Orchestra Manager from the Village Vanguard Jazz Orchestra.
