DJazz

DJazz combines Jazz, Latin, Hip Hop, Breakbeat, Dub and other electronic music styles. The name “DJazz” is a combination between the words DJ and Jazz … with other words: DJazz = DJ’s Jazz. DJazz project is a “studio project” at present time, but they will be performing their music live in the (near) future as well. “DJazz” started in 1998 in Zwolle (The Netherlands) inspired by Jazz-hop Projects such as “Jazzmatazz“ (by Guru), “Buckshot LeFonque” (by Brandford Marsalis) and “Urbanator" (by Michał Urbaniak). The formation featured: Alexander Hartgers (trumpet), Roelant Hollander (sax, beat creator), DJ Phaze (turntables), Johan Schipper (Fender Rhodes), Rutger Renden (bass) and Roy Kieftenbelt (percussion)
