Stefan Karl Schmid

Stefan Karl Schmid is "without question one of the most intereting saxophonists of the young German jazz scene" (jazzandrock.com). With "a sound language full of nuances" (Kölner Stadtanzeiger) and an always "alert intellect" (DLF), the half-Icelandic, half-German has already "found his own personal style" (Mannheimer Morgen). He implements this style with great detail and virtuosity in diverse projects and ensembles, both as a saxophonist/ clarinettist and as a composer.

Schmid spreads his artistic work over various formations, which he leads partly alone, partly together with his band colleagues. From the intimate duo with pianist Lars Duppler, to trio and quartet formations (MUSE & Schmid's Huhn), to large ensembles such as his octet Pyjama or the Subway Jazz Orchestra, he impresses both playfully and compositionally with a "masterful sound language full of nuances that can be savoured with all the senses" (H.P. Koll).

Masa Ishikawa

Born: 1980

Originally from Fukushima Japan, Masayoshi Ishikawa grew up in a city called Aizu Wakamatsu. Throughout his primary and secondary school years, Ishikawa actively participated in several choirs. He came to the United States in 2003 to begin his formal musical training in Seattle Washington, where he first found his passion for piano and the art of jazz. As a pianist, Ishikawa has performed at many jazz festivals/concerts including Italy, China and the United States. He was chosen to perform as one of the five finalists for 2016 Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition. Ishikawa enjoys interacting and cultivating meaningful relationships with listeners and other musicians through performing music

Martin Loyato

Born: February 16, 1971

Martín Loyato is an Argentinean-American composer, multi-instrumentalist, improviser, poet, conductor, educator, and visual artist. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His diverse artistic and educational background includes early studies at the Conservatory Superior of Music in Buenos Aires, a B.F.A. in Composition and Trumpet Performance at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), and a Masters and Ph.D. in Composition at The State University of New York, Stony Brook.

He studied trumpet with Arturo Sandoval, Edward Carroll, Eric Aubier, Howie Shear, Bill Bing, Gabriel Archilla, and Osvaldo Lacunza and has studied with composers such as Evi Giangrante, Stephen Lucky Mosko, Anne Lebaron, Wadada Leo Smith, Ivo Medek, Bunita Marcus, Peter Winkler, Daria Semegen, and Sheila Silver. 

Ilario Ferrari

Early Years and Musical Journey

Born In southern Italy in a picturesque city called Terracina, Ilario has manifested a musical vocation since his early years. Though his grandfather was a reputed song-writer, Ilario never had the chance to meet him and grew up in a "non musical" family. Under the mentorship of guitarist Andrea Renzelli during his teenage years, Ilario delved into formal music education, mastering the guitar and self-teaching piano and composition. At just seventeen, his inaugural band, VST, earned a coveted spot in the finals of the prestigious national competition "Rock Targato Italia'' in Milan.

Upon completing high school, Ilario ventured to Rome and co-founded the "Studio Mobile" recording studio with sound engineer and lyricist Giovanni Leo. For five years, he showcased and developed his versatility as a pianist, guitarist, and composer, crafting a diverse array of music projects, from orchestral works to pop/rock productions.

Jürgen Friedrich

Jürgen Friedrich is an european Pianist and Composer/Arranger. He is working in the field of Jazz, Improvisation and Contemporary Music.
His unique style is apparent in many projects - ranging from small groups, like piano trio, to orchestral settings, like big band or string orchestra combined with improvisers.
As an educator he is teaching Piano and Composition at the University of Music and Dance Cologne/Germany.

Ramiro Zayas

The jazz pianist and composer Ramiro Zayas, based in Berlin, has been active in the scene for several years. In his music, Zayas blends his understanding of modal jazz, free improvisation, and Argentine music. Among his works as a leader are "Río Interior" (2019) and "Parte del Viaje" (2024), where the artist showcases refined harmonic exploration and solid skills as a composer. Currently, he also leads his ensemble "Collector" and is part of the Finnish-Argentinian trio "Narat."

Discovering the connection between images, emotions, and music is what interests him the most, and he strives to apply it both in his own project and in his compositions for large ensembles or big bands.
