Matthias Kohler

Born in 1983 in a small town near the capital Berne, Matthias Kohler is a Swiss artist active in Jazz and contemporary music. His work ranges from straight ahead Jazz to contemporary and improvised music. He is currently most active with the group "This Is Pan"; the group name is a nod to the greek god of music and nature. Matthias Kohler was an artist in residence in Singapore, Hudson NY, France, Switzerland and Japan. He is active nationally and internationally; mostly with his own groups but also as a sideman.

Jon Raskin

Highlights of Rova founding member Jon Raskin's early career include his '70s participation in new music ensembles directed by John Adams (San Francisco Conservatory of Music) and Dr. Barney Childs (University of Redlands). Before Rova, Raskin served as music director of the Tumbleweed Dance Company (1974-77), was a founding member of the Blue Dolphin Alternative Music Space and participated in the creation of the Farm- an art project that included a city farm, a community garden, Ecology Center, Dance and Theater companies and organized the creation of a city park. Jade Collective

Jade Collective is an NYC based indie-jazz band led by Jan Esbra and Catey Esler. Their music is influenced by their diverse musical backgrounds, drawing from alternative rock to folk to create a sound all their own. In September 2016, Jade Collective released their debut album Clarity which was successfully crowdfunded through Indiegogo. Since their start in 2016, Jade Collective has toured as supporting act for world-renowned singer-songwriter, Becca Stevens and has held residencies at The Middle East in Boston as well as The Shrine & Silvana in New York. In 2016 their original song “Beyond the Last Thought” won a Downbeat Student Music Award for Undergraduate College Outstanding Composition. azz guitarist and composer, based in London, originally from Porto, Portugal. With punk and psychdelic rock backgrounds, I've started to study jazz in 2012 in Porto. In 2018, enrolled the Jazz BA in Middlesex University in London. During these last years I've been playing with many people from the scene in Porto, working on function gigs and also with original music. In 2018 I also started to work in my original with my quartet, that has a line-up from Porto and another from London, recording an EP in London in the beginning of 2019, realising an album soon this year. In London aside from my studies he play, record and give lessons regularly

Shay Hazan

Bassist and composer Shay Hazan, based in Tel-Aviv, presents his latest group release with new reflections and directions. The band, two-horns strong and backed by the classic piano, bass and drums unit, continues to strike ripples in their near and farther surroundings. Only that in Hazan's case, backing does not mean hiding. His significant bass work carries the group into the magical realms of Gnawa music from Morocco, the new wave of Hip-Hop, and the 1960's Chicago Free Jazz and human rights movement, all these casts into a fresh blend of old and new flavours.

Czech born American pianist, composer, arranger, educator, music engineer, producer, and photographer Pavel Wlosok (*1973) started to play the piano when he was five years old. He received his classical education in piano performance and composition at the Janacek Conservatory of Music in OSTRAVA (1987 - 1993) in the classes of Mr. Zdenek Pecek and Mr. Igor Katajev, and at the Janacek Academy of Music (JAMU) in BRNO (1993 - 1995) in the class of Prof. Arnost Parsch (both Czech Republic). Pedro Melo Alves

Pedro Melo Alves was born 1991 in Porto/ Portugal and has consistently been working as a drummer and composer in innovative jazz bands (Omniae Ensemble, In Igma, The Rite of Trio), contemporary electroacoustic projects (his solo O or his trio symph), improvised music (with Luís Vicente, Yedo Gibson, Theo Ceccaldi), instrumental rock (Catacombe), and soundtracks for Theatre and Dance (with Schaubühne's Peter Kleinert or Carlota Lagido). With studies in Jazz and Contemporary Composition he has been recognized with composition, solo drums and band awards and is now establishing himself as one of the new european creative voices, participating in Jazzahead, 12 Points and European Jazz Conference.
