Musician

Carter Fox

Born:

Bassist and producer Carter Fox began his musical journey in the suburbs of Philadelphia learning classical upright bass at the age of 9. His yearning to express his creativity continued to expand as he learned to play many orchestral, wind, and brass instruments throughout his youth, focusing mainly on bass and trombone. His leap to the world beyond classical music started in 2006, when he began to perform with numerous jazz groups and musicians around Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Delaware at the age of 15. Under the mentorship of world-renown bassist Gerald Veasley and notable session bassist and arranger Kjell Benner, Carter honed his performance and songwriting chops, performing hundreds of shows and playing with numerous bands before releasing his own self-produced LP “Suburbia” in spring 2009 at the age of 18
